I don't know what Contemporary means but songs by Chris Brown, Cassie, Lyfe Jennings, and Latoya Luckett are very good.

There are sub-genres of Contemporary R& B such as "Quiet Storm", "New Jack Swing", "Hip Hop Soul", "Neo Soul"
Yes, Contemporary has some oldie's but goodies still out recently.
Lionel Richie, John Legend, American Idol's Elliot Yamin, Brian McKnight, Jon B (one of the Best Contemporary Artist of MY time, but I am rather young), Mark Anthony (Latino Singer with some great English Titles)
Christina Aguilera, Joss Stone (my sisters like her), Jessica Simpson, Alicia Keys, Mariah Carey, Mary J. Blidge, Keyshia Cole, Selena (had some great English songs, Jennifer Lopez (has some R&B titles)
