It is not practical. They say that if schools do not meet the requirements they will take money from the school and begin to fire superintendants, principals and then teachers. Some children have little or no parental support. Kids go home to spend the evenings alone with no adult to help them. How can we be held accountable when we spend 50 minutes a day with the child? How does firing people and taking money that is badly needed help?
Give me 5 questions... whether I can answer them or not does not determine that I am capable or incapable. I think it is ridiculous.

Not at all. Taking the No Child Left Behind tests is absolutely ridiculous. How can you administer a seventh grade level test to tenth grade AP students? My cousin had valuable time taken away from her AP course so that she could take a test that she already took twice before. The teacher told her the exam was used to show that the school met the No Child Left Behind Standards.
If you are going to enforce this rule, you should administer the exam to children in the 5th or 6th grade. This is the point in time when most American children fall behind.

Of course, the educational system in GA isn't working either, but, that's my personal complaint.
