Sometimes I just can't resist those mints. I gorge on them before the waiter even makes it over to my table, and then I am no longer hungry. Should I still tip the waiter in this event? I always do because the tables are stocked with mints so well, but I just want to make sure that this is necessary.

If the mints are of good, urine free quality, and the waiter refils your drink to clense your mint filled throat, then yes, by all means tip.

If all you are eating in a restaurant are the mints you should not be there in the first place. If you get good service you should tip as you are using up space at a table the waiter could actually be serving food at and making money. Stop going to restaurants if all you eat are the mints. Go to walmart instead!!!

As to the cost,if they are on the table, they are free, kinda like chips in a mexican resteraunt.
If you are going out to eat, yes, you should leave a tip for taking up the space.
All you eat is mints?
Maybe instead of a resteraunt, you should spend your money at a place that specializes in eating disorders!!!!!!!

no, i bet that the mints don't cost much, and most people don't even eat them, like me. just tell her that you hate her that way she wont expect a tip and she won't come to the table to bug you.

the mints are complimentary.. so you don't need to extra tip the waiter for them.

You are just plain rude. Stay home! Buy your own mints and don't waste other people's time & effort.
