I saw a question earlier that I don't believe gave enough info & the answers weren't helpful. I am wondering the same thing myself. If I send someone an e-mail from an annonymous e-mail address, from yahoo or hotmail, and do not use my computer at work, can it be traced back to me?

they can always trace ur computer.. not u.... when u sent some one an e-mail ... ur ip address will also appear on that e-mail.....
so the reciever can see it... there are some websites that can translate that number and find ur internet service provider like comcast ,verizon,,aol,,etc.... they can also figure out ur district or county.... but if u use ur work computer and u r working for a famous company who uses a seperate internet u will be trace d easily.. but its not possible for them to find your name..... so dont worry about that they can only make some guesses.....

It depends. If you are using one of those computers at the mall that everyone can use....and you created the Hotmail or Yahoo Account there....and didn't give away any clue in creating the account that it was you.....it would be traced back to that computer. Everything would lead them to that computer in the mall.

There are many things you can do wrong, for instance, use that account again from another spot...which leads them there. Get caught by a surveillance camera at the mall while using that computer.
