1.
To convert a faction to a percent, divide the number and move the decimal over two places. 45 divided by 50 = 0.9 Now move the decimal to the right 2 places to get 90%
90.0%

2.
Take the percent and divide it by 100. So you would get 15/100. Now reduce the fraction. You can divide the top and bottom by 5 to get 3/20. That's a simple as it can get.
3/20

These are simple. Calm down. Relearning is easy.

First, for the 45/50, divide 100 by the denominator. Do this because percentages are out of 100 percent.

100 divided by 50 is 2. So, this means that each 50th is worth 2%.

45 multiplied by 2 is 90.

90/100 is 90%.

For the second part, make it a fraction by taking away the percent sign and putting the 15 over 100.

15/100 can be reduced.

Both 15 and 100 are divisible by 5.

15 divided by 5 is 3. 100 divided by 5 is 20.

The lowest form of 15/100 then is 3/20.

There aren't really formulas. Just remember that percentages are out of a total of 100, and how to find the greatest common factor between two numbers...

For example: 15 can be broken down into two whole number multiplication pairs. 15x1 and 3x5, so the factors of 15 are 1, 15, 3, and 5.

The factors of 100 are 1x100, 2x50, 4x25, 5x20, and 10x10. The factors of 100 are then 1, 100, 2, 50, 4, 25, 5, 20, and 10.

Just find the largest number that both can be divided by to lower the fraction to its simplest form.

Hope that I made this clearer for you. Good luck!

1. % is the symbol for percent which is short for per centum. Centum is Latin for 100. The division sign can be read as per. So, then you have 45 per 50 is what per 100, or

45/50 = x/100 (x is short for what)

The easiest way to solve THIS problem is to recognize that 100 = 50 * 2. Now, you can multiply any thing by 1 and not change its value, and 1 = 2/2. Thus,

x/100 = (2/2) * (45/50) =(2*45)/(2*50) = 90/100 =90%

2. 15% = (15/100)/(5/5) = (15/5)/(100/5) =3/20,

this time DIVIDING by 1 in the form of a common factor you recognize in each number.

45/50= 90%
15%=15/100=3/20

Percent means per hundred. So if you have 45 out of 50 then thats 90 out of 100. To get the percentage just multiply the fraction by 100 and call the answer %. To express a percentage as a fraction just divide the number by 100 then simplify the fraction.

First Question write 45/50 as a percent.

45 divided by 50 = 0.9
to make it a percent, multiply by 100
0.9 x 100 = 90 percent

Next Question write 15 percent as a fraction

15 percent = 15 / 100
which can be reduced to 3 / 20 ( if you div by 5 )

Good Luck

1.(Numerator-of-Fraction/Denominator-of-Fraction)*100=percentage.
This means, take 45 and divide it by 50. You get 0.9. Multiply by 100. You get 90. 90% is the answer.

2.Percent/100=fraction. Reduce as you would reduce any fraction.
This means 15% is equal to 15/100. 15 and 100 are both divisible by 5. Divide both by 5. 3/20 is the answer, since the fraction is now in its simplest form. 3 is only divisible by itself (and one, which doens't count when reducing fractions) and 20 is not divisible by 3.

(45/50) / 5 = 9/10 = .9

15/100 = .15

Basically, you can divide 45 over 50 to get the answer. However, I changed it to a impler form by dividing the top and bottom number by 5 (which is it s common denominator) first and the dividing 9 by 10.

Second equation is to change 15% into an equation shich is 15 over a 100 (remember that the 100 means 100%) then you can also use a lower common denominator or just divide 15 by 100 to get the fraction.

a percent is out of 100, so to change 45/50 to something out of 100, multiply by 2/2, and you get 90/100, which is 90%

15% equals 15/100 so to simplify divide by 5/5 because both numbers are divisible by 5 and you get 3/20.

simple..just divide 45 by 50 =.9 then multiply by 100, or more simply move the decimal point to the right two places, which equals 90 %

Think of it this way.. there are 50 items.. you have 45 of them.. that is almost all so it could never be anything like 15 percent..

to find percentages, for example.. what is 45 % of 50, you just multiply the two numbers.. 45 x 50 equals 2250. divide by 100 or more simply, move the decimal point to the left to places and it becomes 22.50. 45% of 50 is 22.50

Good luck.
