PEOPLE!!! This "down-low thing" has been going long for centuries!!!! Everybody did it. It not a racial thing! You shouldn't be just alert of "borthers" but be alert of ALL MEN!! I just don't understand the shock! There have been gays in every race. I'm bi-curious and I wouldn't lie about my sexuality. I would tell them and if they didn't want to be with me, to hell with them!

It's just that. Because they're "down low" or undercover bisexuals, it's surprising. And it's a lot of heterosexual-seeming men. They're not feminine and some are MARRIED.

I was just thinking about this issue myself. One of the guys in the controversial book was married and had a baby. Got himself sick with AIDS. His line was the only one [his lover] was effin was me."

How stupid! I can't help but be angry at that.

Now a baby (who's probably grown now) and a wife have lost because of it, although they were told he got AIDS from a woman. Guess that would hurt less.

You want my opinion? plain and simple, because they just won't face facts. And not just the black community, but the d.l. brothers too! Look, I feel honesty is the best policy; You say your bi-curious, ok; to me, because you are a woman don't turn me off, but turn that around for a brother, and then let him tell his lady that he loves her but at the same time, he likes to get a little action from a brother and it's turn off time for all; I have read the books, met J.L.King; corresponded with E.Lynn and I'm glad they did what they did because too many sisters are trusting our men and they are dying and that is where I have a problem. I have been divorced for seven years and just shunned men for the most part, and the one man I did go for may have been on the d.l.can't say cause he's dead. for myself, I am trying more to understand this; I try to look at it from a sister's view and a man's view, and though I can see how things are, I still feel that folks need to come clean; period.

You know homosexuality is a taboo subject, particularly with black folk. Women want to stay in denial and not face the facts that their manly man might be sleeping with a dude. And men with homosexual tendencies want to stay in denial about that. I've seen it far too often. My best friend's ex-boyfriend infected her with HIV. We're pretty sure he got it when he was in jail, sometime during his eight-year sentence. This man does not take care of himself, doesn't go to the doctor, and is still going around sleeping with women (and maybe men, who knows?). A few years ago I went out with this guy (an aspiring rapper) only to find out, not too long ago, that he hit on several guys at my job (he was our co-worker at the time). He certainly never told me he was gay or bisexual, and refused to admit it when I asked him about it.

Why can't people just be true to themselves?
