Your right Jenny one year later and still no help or relief, there are still people homeless and nothing has been repaired. FEMA has trailers with no one to set them up just setting back on a guarded lot. The insurance companies have never settled any of the insurance claims because of George Bush's legislature to protect the insurance companies over people lives. There will be no Republican votes coming out of that State in November. The American people don't realize the families that live all over the U.S. with ties to New Orleans that are disgusted with Bush and the Government over this tragedy. People died when Bush lied!

I don't believe so. Lets take it straight to the bottom line. Several key democrat players and the media all immediately said Bush did not react fast enough. Thing is, they are right.

Let's take a closer look....Mayfield, the National Hurricane Center Director, stated "The forecast now suggests that there will be minimal flooding in the City of New Orleans itself." This was after the levees' has already been breeched.

If you were the president and your advisor tells you things are fine, you believe them. Bush did not lie, he did not react slowly. He did not even find out until more than four hours after the breech. Mayfield should have been tarred and feathered. As an advisor he should have known every damn detail about the situation.

Bush, as Commander-in-Chief is ultimately responsible just as any leader is, but he did not delay because he wanted too.

Well, not exactly a fan of the neocons...

*However*

Anyone who thinks New Orleans/Katrina is GWB's fault is ignorant. Disaster preparedness is a state/city level responsibility and, like it or not, Nagin and Blanco are the ones who should be shouldering the primary blame.

On the other hand, FEMA's response was very disorganized. There was obviously not enough "worse case scenario" planning. But again, if Nagin and Blanco had done *their* jobs, the scale of the disaster would not have been so great.

This has next to nothing to do with GWB, and pretending it does only serves to allow idiots like Nagin and Blanco to continue to fly under the radar despite their incompetence.

Oh, and Rock? That's your state court upholding the insurer's claims. Nothing at all to do with Bush. Once again you have the wingnuts in power down there convincing the ignorant that it's... Everyone? "All Bush's Fault." You guys... it's your state and city government's fault, no one else. Wake up or it will never change, no matter who gets into 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue...

I think it is a whining marathon. Are we going to hear about the dozens of Mississippi towns flatten during Katrina or just the dumb mayor. What happened to all the Florida towns destroyed?
That right it is a 95% democratic town - New Orleans.
Whine, whine, whine.
I feel sorry for those that lost their homes, but it has been a year fix it or shut up whining. More federal money has been spent in this area than anywhere including the earthquakes of Los Angeles. The Governor refused any federal help until day 3 & yes there is written proof of that - so the slow response came from the Democrats - the Govenor.

I trust you completely. I stay in Livingston Parish, and in spite of the certainty that I gained harm to my residing house from the two Katrina and Gustav, it is not something while in comparison with the countless different cities for the time of Louisiana. Baton Rouge grow to be hit fairly perplexing by utilising Gustav, yet you do no longer hear approximately that interior the national media because of the fact it wasn't New Orleans. i actually comprehend your frustration with the way issues circulate. My prayers circulate out to those that are scuffling with for some normalcy after the main present day hurricane.

Neocons did not have anything to do with a corrupt and incompetent local government in New Orleans or an unresponsive stat government. Mike Brown was an idiot, but it was the local, state, and FEMA officials who were advising Bush.

Only if you are too blind to see this whole thing was the fault of the local government, the citizens of NOLA and the history of a city built by the ocean BELOW SEA LEVEL.

We shouldn't have to save people from their own stupidity.
