We don't want to lose our finest and brightest any longer to futile wars in the ME against an ideology. Terrorism is an ideology that can not be beaten on the battle field. It takes finesse, a clear mind and diplomacy to rid ourselves of the brutes of terror. That includes GWB and the NEOCON Hawks.

Terror is the illusion. We're fighting to keep our oil interests intact. If we withdraw from Iraq, Iran will plow into Iraq, completely take it over, and catapult our oil prices into oblivion, including, and not limited to, changing the currency exchange to euros, which would be a huge blow. Right now oil is traded in dollars.
We're protecting our energy source. Bush should be focused on alternative energy sources, so we can piss on the Middle East, and tell them we don't need their oil; we've got better. If we're the leaders in alternative energy, we will retain our world status. But we are quickly losing ground because Bush is not investing in development and education. Who's going to tell a Texas rich oil man that he needs to get out of oil and get on with it? Who's going to tell Dick Cheney to pull his greedy corporate interests out of the Middle East? And what about the Arabs, who want us to be dependent on oil?

"Uncle George" as you called him, will not learn. At least not during his presidency. The fruits of our continued brutal labor in the Middle East will just be more terrorism. We had a serious opportunity with the crisis in Lebanon which we squandered. It isn't the first diplomatic failure for Bush, and I doubt sadly that it will be the last.
And just so you know: .999... does not equal 1. In fact it will never equal 1 no matter how many times you repeat 9. Although, it could round up to 1 if you found it necessary. Your republican education hath failed you.
