my mom has bank of america, it has good online features and keep the change but if you have say $50 in there, and write a check for $55 and before the check goes in you use your debit card for $5, they will pay everything but bounce you twice. They will charge you a bounce fee for the check because they pay the $50 then the other $10 they bounce but since it was 2 different transactions they bounce you twice. So just be careful when if u use bank of america they like to get over on people

I hate all banks, but I would probably prefer Citibank, because it has given me credit when others wouldn't. I don't like the fact they are owned by Arabs. I have had bad experiences with BofA, they want to hold funds even after the "get aquanted" period has passed. Banks like Compass, that offers "free" checking does everything they can to get an NSF or other fee from you. Like paying checks by the largest amount first, instead of the check number.

Digital Federal Credit Union (www.dcu.org). I have been banking with them for about 10 years. Too happy. Never had to shop around for any loan.
I bought 2 cars, 1 house, one computer. Never had to ask for rates with any other bank. I know DCU is cheapest. No one can beat it.
Plus... if you have direct deposit, then you can use your ATM card anywhere. No fee. See the convinience. You donot have to look around for your bank atm to take money. Just walk in any Gas station and use your card. That machine will charge you $1.50 But who cares? DCU will give that money back to you (upto $5 a month). But then how often do you use atm? 3 times a month? so its free ...

The bank I prefer depends on which one pays the most interest on CDs and my checking account. Needless to say I have more than one account because I am prone to moving things around to get the best rates.
