You are too young- that is probably why your dad made you break up with him.

umm, well my dad did make me break up with someone that i had been dating on and off for two years. i was really depressed, and really angry. but that was a few years ago when i still lived at home. he wanted me to break up with him for a reasonable reason though. the guy did nothing for me, and he did not have a job, and he was really really lazy. then i did not understand it, but now i do. I am married, and i am 20 years old. I love the guy that i am with now. I wouldn't change any of it. I thank him for it now. If it had not been for him, then I would just be a dead beat without anything. I am not sure what the reason is that your dad wants you to break it off with him though so I do not know your story. I can't really give you any advice on that. just think about it. you will know what to do. do not jump to everything and be mad at your dad though. he loves you, and he is just trying to help, even though sometimes it is bad. so just think about it.

Umm...well my parents did TRY to do that...but I continued to see him behind their backs (mistake #1) and when I ended up pregnant, we didn't tell them for almost 6 months (mistake #2) and my parents STILL don't like him (and my son is now 2!)!!! So, what I would suggest is (providing you are of an age to be dating and of an age that you can support yourself! ie about 16) that you sit him down & talk to him about your feelings for this guy, have your bf meet with your dad, etc. If you're under 16 (age of consensual sex in my state, anyway) you need to just accept it as it is! He is your dad & he is just trying to do what is best for his girl! Also, if you live in his house, you need to realize that if you defy him in this, it's gonna make your life a living hell--if you openly continue to see this guy & your dad still doesn't approve, it's going to cause a lot of fights! If you sneak around...well, I'lll just put it this way, the lies you will have to tell, etc...it just ends up making your relationship with your parents even more unbearable, esp. if you get caught!!!! Good luck!!!!!!!!!

According to your profile; you are 14 yr. old. Your dad has your best interest in mind. You should not be too serious with any guy at this age. Give yourself some time to enjoy life and fall in and out of love.
