my 5 year old son picked out some seeds from his apple and said " mommy let's plant an apple tree". i was just wondering if you really could grow an apple tree with the seeds.

Sure can, although you don't know what you will get in the way of fruit. Most apple trees are produced by grafting a branch from a proven tree onto root stock, not grown from seeds. Your seed should grow, but it may or may not produce good fruit. That's way down the road, though. Plant the seeds and let your son enjoy watching it grow.

Yes.....the story of Johnny Appleseed is a true one. I suggest planting them in very small pots at first. You can teach him how to transplant them as they grow!

yes but it takes several years before it will bear fruit
