The lyrics are so goshdarn random, I do not get it! Why would a horse ask someone to marry them? Is it sureal and exestential, or just words that rhymed?

I am not sure myself....but whatever it means, she must have done something bad since she says, "'cuz I cut some cord and he won't forgive me after all these years"
