It's unlikely they are getting true readings anyway, since most don't understand how to correctly use the radar gun.. That would be, even "if" that gun was accurate...To get a correct reading the radar must be aimed at a point half way between the pitchers release and home plate..."IF" the gun is aimed at the pitchers release point what you are getting is a false high reading. A ML pitchers fastball when released at 90MPH crosses the plate at 82MPH, "to me that's an 86MPH pitch"...
No the little guys would not be throwing as hard from 60'6' as they are from 46ft(?) the ball would have a greater distance to slow down...
If memory serves me correctly the time that it takes from release to plate for the "average" ML fastball was .375 seconds...

77 mph is 77 mph.
The distance is not a factor in the speed of the pitch.
Yes at 60' 6" they would still be throwing at 77 mph. They may not have the accuracy they do now, but the speed will be the same.
BTW, 77 mph pitchers can and do win quite often in HS play throwing from MLB distance.

No. They couldn't throw 57 MPH. They show the comparisons because the reaction time of a 77mph fastball in little league is like reacting to a 100mph fastball at major league mound.

Obviously the baseball does not accelerate once the initial speed imparted by the pitcher's throwing motion is removed so can only be thrown slower over a greater distance. Good for you for being able to throw a ball harder than a little kid.

Little leaguers shouldn't even understand a thank you to throw a curve ball. you're stunning they might desire to be discovering the fastball and changeup, and be discovering proper to the value of adjusting the region of their pitches. in the event that they pick to get difficult and that they might easily throw it, a knuckle ball should not be volatile to their arm, properly for the pitcher a minimum of, could be undesirable for the catcher nevertheless.

When it gives the equivelant of the MLB speed, it's not really talking about speed, it's talking about the reaction time of the batter.

They would be throwing slower; because it's a farther distance. They would throw maybe 65-70 something like that. I'm not sure.
