Depends on who makes the money, I let my man control to some extent, I have to consider where I would be if alone. I sometimes feel used, cuz I do the majority of the housework etc., but I have a new car I can use a new condo to live in . I have it made . So I have to do a lotta the housework etc. , oh well. Nice pay off. Plus he is a super guy. And I enjoy taking care of him.His income is double mine and still I try to pay half of all bills.

Your orientation makes no difference. . .a control freak is a control freak. Try talking to him without sounding judgmental, something like, "I know that you're trying to help me, and I appreciate that. But I need to make my own decisions based on what I think is best for me."

If he's OK with that, no problem. If he gets physically or verbally abusive or starts playing mind games, it's time to get the hell out of Dodge. Get a restraining order against him, and do whatever it takes to protect yourself.

A control freak is dangerous because you never know when he's going to get violent. "Trust your instincts" is my best advice. . .and I think they're already telling you that there's potential trouble ahead.

It doesn't matter if you are gay or heterosexual, no one should try to control anyone. If he/she cannot respect your wishes or opinions, then maybe he/she is not the one for you. Relationships are two way street, not a one way, my way.

Find a new friend. Or sit down and have a serious talk with your friend. If they are being controling over you they are not being your friend.

Trust issues and insecurity are unattractive. Kick him in the balls if he rags on you.
