Yes, millions of women have experienced cramping. There is a lot of uterine stretching going on. I believe the uterine cells stretch up to 500 times their normal size and then of course contracts down to its original size. In later pregnancy the phenomenon is known as Braxton-Hicks contractions and may be mistaken by the mother as contractions Congratulations on your pregnancy. I hope you have help in your home for the first few weeks so that you can rest well and not feel over-stressed. Thank you for seeing a doctor. Where I live, many women do not seek out prenatal care with sometimes sad outcomes. You are such a caring person. I believe that you will be a great mother.

I had cramping all the time. It's normal during your pregnancy. It's caused by stretching of uterus. As long as the crampng is not severe, constant and with bleeding, you should be fine. But do keep an eye on brownish spotting.

It's obvious the fist answerer is a blonde without the nick. The cramping, if it is low on both sides is the uterus relaxing to allow for the baby's growth in utero. During pregnancy the mother's body produces and releases a hormone called relaxin that allows the round ligaments surrounding the uterus to expand and prepare for birth.

Ok...let's keep this simple. You have a human growing in you. Some women cramp. Now, lets not foget...it's going to squeeze your guts together as it grows. It will kick you in your lungs and bladder as well. Be prepared to get the wind knocked out of you and also that you'll need to run to the bathroom at the drop of a hat.

Yea it's normal to have cramping. I was alarmed by cramping when pregnant with my first child, but unless it's accompanied by heavy bleeding then i wouldn't worry. I'm preggers with my second now and do have dull cramping so i think it's relatively normal.

My wife is 30 weeks pregant. She had this at about 20 weeks. It's probably round ligament pain, where your body stretches out in preparation for birth. This occurs on your sides and in your pelvic area. I would keep my doctor informed.

your fine, its your uterus getting ready for the baby. If you would start to bleed go to the emergency room or contact your doctor. But I dont look for that to happen what you are feeling is normal. (Ive had 6 kids)

i tend to have a lot of cramping up towards the end of my pregnancy so i always have to go on bed rest. maybe you're just too active right now. try taking it easy & putting your feet up (literally)
