ok i am 20 and single, i have a 4month old child by a woman that i was never married to. she never let me put my name on the birth certificate andshe basically has not given me any rights to the child. i paid for us to get a dna test done i found out the baby was mines(and im happy about that) then i took her to court in order for me to start paying child support. i was hoping that she would let me see the child, but instead she filed a protection order saying that i absued her while she was pregnant, (which is a lie because the many attempts i tried to make to see her she said i couldnt) she also has a boyfriend now, but i am basically tired of this whole thing and being that i will never be able to see my child until she was 18 i was wondering how can i get out of the child support payments and then pursue to see my child later on down the road, i really need some good legal help but cant afford it, i was set to go to the military until all of this happened so i just need help. thank

Most local Courts have a family Law Facilitator or an office that can help you assert your rights. You can also go down to the Court and get the forms and start acase for visitation. You have displayed your interest and caring for the child by submitting for the DNA tests, you are paying support, voluntarily, and so you have done everything right.

It is your absolute right to see your child and develope a father/child relationship. If you dont do something now, your child will always feel abandoned by you and will have huge issues later. DO not try and get out of support - that is a wrong turn for you and not in the child's interests. This boyfriend may come and go or may even turn out to be a great step-father. BUT you are the father and the child will always wonder about you. So keep doing the right thing here friend!!

Ok, since you are paying child support, sue her for child visitation rights and if she brings up the abuse crap, ask her to prove it, then sue her for slander. Chances are once she sees you standing up to her, shell back off and will be eager to work something out with you. This is the stuff guys need to think about before getting a girl pregnant especially when theyre not married. Im impressed by you coming forth and being a real man and volunteeringly paying for your responsibility. Not too many guys would do that whether the baby is theirs or not. Good luck

Unfortuntely you are in for a living hell.
Join a father's group and do some research.
The Family Court will be a horror show for you.
If you still want to go through with having contact with your child, then you need to move as quickly as possible while the child is still very young.
My heart goes out to you and your child.

OK take her to court and make her prove the allegations against you ask the judge for visitation for you child. If you did not abuse her then she can not prove it, get you character witnesses to stand up for you in court. there is no way i would let her get away with that. Fight for your rights and for you beautiful baby. She can not keep that baby from you. If you show her that you are going to fight for your rights she might just give up. Make sure you have a witness when ever you speak to her and do not loose your temper what so ever no matter what she says or does that will just make you loOK bad and prove her case just cover your *** good ok. Good luck sugar

File a petition for visitation with the court. If she is alleging abuse she will have to prove it to prevent you from seeing your child unsupervised. (i.e. police reports)
