I am starting a cover band to make some $$ and I looking for some direction. We want to do some hard rock but will mix up 80's-present

dude, be different. Play the ones people listen to at home - Gn'R fans don't go home and listen to SCOM, they listen to Don't Damn Me, or The Garden (both easy to learn, cept the Don't Damn Me solo haha).
Try stuff like In Bloom, by Nirvana, "Wanted Dead or Alive" by Bon Jovi, "The Rain Song" or "The Ocean" by Led Zeppelin.
Learn modern pop rock hits like "I Predict A Riot" by the Kaiser Chiefs, or stuff by Muse.
Ive been in loads of cover bands, and people enjoy the stuff they don't hear all over the radio, but listen to at home, trust me

That's awesome i sure wish i could be in the band with you all. Anyways : Shinedown- "save me" , Scorpions- "wind of change",
Saliva- "always", maybe some tommy tutone "867-5309", And make the crowd go crazy with Korn-"Alone I break" and, AFI-"miss murder" that should do the trick!!

I've always loved The Cars as a young girl and would love to hear a cover of My Best Friends Girl Friend, I think it would be easy to do and sound awesome. Hope you do it!!!!!!!
