I learned in HS. i took a typing class where they teach you how to use your fingers on the keyboard. for example, your index fingers always rests on F and J. it was fun. Now I type pretty well and fast. You should consider a class or just have a person who took a class teach you, I would! ...........it's definitely a plus if you know how to type ( properly ). some ppl just type fast but not the proper way (the way it's taught). it saves me a lot of time from the computer. GL,,,,wait is it called index fingers?

it takes practice to type fast. i am a freshmen. i took typing classes since 5th grade and i can type at 108 words per minute at my last keyboarding test. that is pretty fast and i type faster than anyone i know. i keep my fingers on the home keys with pointer fingers on f and j and i just have to memorize where the other keys are. once you get the hang of it it becomes much easier and kinda fun

I am 18 years old and can type 70 words a minute on a bad day. On a good day? 100 +.

Jumpstart Typing-3rd grade.

It IS for kids, but it helps.
