I've tried a lot--toothpaste, lemon juice, products like Proactiv, apricot acne scrub--some don't work at all or make it worse and others make it better for a time, but then don't work anymore. Any help is appreciated, thanks.

Pure Tea Tree oil...it is the best thing ever! You can buy it at most health/beauty stores, local grocery store, aveda and bath and body works have it too. You rub it on the affected spots and you will notice results by the next morning. you sleep overnight in it...well I usually do. It has a distinctive smell and you don't want to have oil on your face. If I'm hm and not doing anything I will wear it around. remeber this that switching face products can cause your skin to go crazy. Find a product you like and stick with it. Make good face care a habit. Also, when you initailly start a good skin care regiment your face will be going through detox which can cause some more breakouts...Good Luck....people think I may be crazy for suggesting the oil, but it kills the bacteria...it's my life saver!!!

I don't have any home remedies, but I can recommend a great (cheap product). It's called "Acne Free", and you can buy it anywhere (WalMart, drugstores, etc.) I paid 15 bucks for the whole system. It's even better than ProActiv....I never had a problem with acne until I hit my twenties, and now, being pregnant, it got really bad....I used this and notcied a huge difference in just two days....I highly recommend it. My skin now is completely clear. Awesome product!

This might sound weird, but if you put some Preparation H cream on a really bad pimple it takes the redness and the swelling down. When you think about it it makes sense. The thing I found that works best, though, is a prescription cream from a doctor. It has erythromycin and benzoyl peroxide in it. The regular MD can write a prescription for it. Put it on every night and morning. You keep it in the fridge. It's the best thing I ever found for acne.

Monitor your diet. Cut all all fatty/oily foods for a week (minimum), this has far more effect than any home remedy.
