Use a straightened PAPER CLIP and insert it in the tiny hole. Push lightly and the drive will begin to open.
If your DVD is dirty, it might not READ, so if you see that the DVD was not upside down, then consider THE DIRT. You see, the computer got really busy TRYING to read that dirt.

1. If the drive ejects discs slowly or appears to be struggling, insert and eject a disc several times.
2. If the drive does not eject discs, press the F12 key or, on original PowerBook G4 computers, the manual eject button located on the side of the slot. Holding down the trackpad button during startup should also eject a disc.
3. Reset the parameter RAM (PRAM) and/or the Power Manager (PMU). PMU reset instructions for iBook G4/PowerBook G4 or for MacBook/MacBook Pro (both 15-inch and 17-inch models).

Restart computer
At start up hold down
Command Option O F
type eject-cd
that should eject it
If that doesn't do it, try this:
Shut down computer.
While the computer is off press and hold the mouse button / track-pad button
while you are holding down the mouse button press the power button and continue to hold the mouse button. Doing this should pop the disk right out.
If this doesn't work, take your PowerBook to you local Apple repair shop and get it checked out.

First of all, (God forbid) stay with apple. I used to have windows and it not only jammed when i did this - it shredded the CD!
Unscrew the disk drive. There should be some screws on the bottom of your laptop, or a release catch. Once the disk drive is out of your laptop, take the top off (might need unscrewing) and remove the disk. Put everything back in the opposite way you took it out.
P.S Try not to do it again...

Use a paper clip to push in the small hole in the front - that is the emergency eject release. You might also be able to restart and start hitting eject before windows loads

Try to reboot and tap the eject button on the drive (if its there.)
There is a manual eject hole in most CD drives. Unbend a paper clip and poke it in to pop open the tray.

Can you remove your DVD drive? I have a MacBook and usually if a DVD gets stuck, I can just turn it off and it will come out after I reboot. If it doesn't work, take it to the Genius Bar at your local Mac store. If you don't have a local Mac store. Call 1-800-Apple; they are supremely helpful.

There should be a tiny little hole on the "drawer" that you put the DVD into. You can fit the end of a paper clip or something in there. It'll eject your DVD right away. it's the emergency exit button.

Look for a small round hole on your DVD drive, that is the emergency eject. Bend a paperclip and stick it into the hole and the drive should open.
