Soldiers need to concentrate on the job at hand. If they are all in love or bonking each other then they are hardly likely to win. They should also treat all fellow colleagues equally, yet if there was a ssituation where they had to choose between saving a colleague or their lover, they may choose their loveer. They may unnecessarily risk their own life or the life of a colleague.
However in some places rules are different. In Germany, soldiers whether straight or gay are allowed to sleep with each other.

The Israeli army has sexual equality and it has found that the male soldiers are more likely to put themselves risk for a female soldier than for a male soldier.
I think it's genetically programmed into males to be protective of females.
If you add emotional attachment into that then you have situations where you lose six soldiers trying to rescue one wounded one.
Not an attrition rate generals want if they hope to win the battle.

cuz its hard when your at war! or something! soldiers are like a faamily and if you are to be together and one of you dies at war ( not to bring up a bad topic like that) but if one of you were to die at war then the other would be heart broken and it would give them more angst to fight but not enough power because theyd be to upset! and they may not even be focused on the war anymore but on you and that might make you lose the war!

Just cos they want to nurture thier babys and if they marry fellew army officers like them, no one will home with the kids when duty calls.

Because if they were out in the feild together and under attack they would die saving each other. Something like that anyway

because they are trained fighters and this is just one draw back from it.
