Anyone like the music of Charlie Rich?

I'm not a big country music guy, but I thought he was great and although his biggest hits came in country (Behind Closed Doors, The Most Beautiful Girl, et al), he also crossed into areas of Gospel, Jazz, Soul..........I think he was talented and should be given greater applause........do you agree/disagree.........

im 24 and was raised on such singers as charlie rich and conway twitty waylon and willy and my favorite Johnny horton todays singers are great like Kenny chesney but there just missing that good old country soul

I Love his music. I have most of it.Back In the day, country music was so much better than today's stuff. Charlie Rich, George Jones, Tammy Wynette, T.G. Sheppard, Eddie Rabbitt, Gary Stewart, Moe Bandy, Barbara Mandrell, just to name a few that made country music hot, in the 60's and 70's.

I agree I loved the song "Behind closed doors"..He had a beautiful voice..He did like to drink a lot I remember on the music awards in the 70's he didn't get the award and came out on stage drunk and raising cane at the person who got it..He had to be forced off the stage..But he still could sing..

He is a great country artist. That generation of country is 10'xs better than this "so" called country of Rascal Flatts,Kenny Chesney and Toby Keith. I would rather listen to Charlie Rich, Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard and Marty Robbins over all of that modern poppy country crap.

Yep. And, for those of us Old enough to remember, "Behind Closed Doors" also evolved into a sort of Satirical Anthem of the Bungled Secrecy of the Watergate Incident.
