If a fox can eat a chicken, and a chicken can eat a bag of corn, and none of them run away, how do you get all 3 across the river in a canoe without leaving any 2 compatibles alone for the predator to eat the prey?

Take the chicken across, then go get the fox. When you get to the other side with the fox, take the chicken back with you, switch it for the corn. Take the corn over, then go get the chicken.

You take the fox and the chicken over first... Bring the fox back with you, then get the corn and bring it over along with the fox. This way you have them all safely over to the other side.

bring the chicken across, go back and get the fox and bring it across. take the chicken back across but leave the fox there alone. leave the chicken back on the first side and take the corn back across with you (leaving the chicken alone on one side and the fox waiting on the other side). take the corn across, leave it with the fox, and go back for the chicken.
