this item is on ebay so i wasnt sure if i should trust it . anyway i wnated one to learn how to play

A violin under $25 will sound TERRIBLE. Since you don't know what you're looking for, you should get your first violin at a good music store. People working there are usually pretty knowledgeable and can point you in the right direction. Also they might be able to help you find teachers in your area. If you go super cheap and get a piece of junk, it will sound bad and be difficult to play and you will be very discouraged.

No. You're going to have to spend at least $100 to $150 to get a decent starter violin. Don't trust these $25 dollar "deals" on Ebay. These are usually poorly made Chinese instruments that are closer to toys than anything else. There are also a number of ripoff artists on Ebay that advertise guitars, violins, etc. for cheap, "Direct from China." You send them the money and they send you nothing, or else you get something that's so horrible you couldn't begin to play it. Trust me, you are better off trying your local music stores.

Any instrument that is cheap and not name brand will sound like crap... I know from experience...
