If there is no love in the relationship then how can you be questioning whether or not to move on? I am going through a divorce with my husband of three years I still care about him love is too strong a word. But he doesn't want the divorce but I konw it is the right choice because of his actions not the best role model for our son. I think that when you are ready to answer this question without doubts you will know. Just because there is love in a relationship doesn't make divorce wrong. Divorce isn't something that is right or wrong divorces happen and if you decide later on that he was the right one what is to stop you for reconciling. I am not saying you should or should not get a divorce only to look within yourself and try and decide what you want for you. Putting aside everyone else and thinking about you.

If you have kids, you need to consider that a divorce is probably harder on them than you splitting. Regardless, even if you don't have kids, then I would say that if you need to ask the question then it's probably not the right decision. Your best chance (it was mine) is a Gottman book called "The Seven Principles for Making Marriage Work." It has some exercises that you do as a couple to help you remember and recover the happy times you had at the beginning. It is based on scientific research and is not typical marriage counseling.

Yes, most of the time divorce maybe the only answer for a marriage with no love in it. Sometimes going to counseling can help, but both parties have to be willing to do it. If there is a chance for reconciliation, then try, but if there is not, then it's just best to move on to something better. I think that love is a choice over than a feeling too. Anyway, you have to ask yourself what do you want for your life cause life is short and time moves on.
I am going to get divorced soon and I still love my husband, but I have decided I am not willing to be away from my family and friends in order to live with him (we dont live in the same area than my family) and be always on the last place in his life, cause for him everything comes before me: his children from the first marriage, his job, the dog, etc. I knew it would not be easy either way (to keep with him or to leave him) but I have made my choice, based on what I wanted for my life and on what I could handle.
When I committed myself to him, I had no idea about what I was doing and I am not ashamed to say that. What you have to do is to do what you can handle and be able to live with your chin up.

If you have exhausted all other avenues; ie: counselling, communicating with each other honestly, having dates like when you met. Then divorce may be the answer. But not before trying to save a marriage that you obviously believed in when you married. If your marriage is loveless and irreparable then I'm afraid they answer would be yes.

my aunt just left her husband of twenty years, said she was tired of it, they had grown apart, and she didnt even want to think about trying to stay together. She has no financial reasons to stay, and no children with him to think of. I dont think that just the love was gone, but there was some resentment there too, that wasnt going to make things easier or go away, so she did. there is no stigma against it these days, dont waste time on some "marriage counseler", who either has gone thru a divorce and knows what you are going thru, or hasnt and doesnt, but either way not a person to listen to.

Divorce should only be the answer when there is abuse, and one of the parties is in danger.. otherwise you should seek counceling.. both by a clicical professional and find a religious institution that both you and your spouse can believe in strongly and follow the word of your god. You made a committment, both of you.. so now is the time to put your committment to the test. you need to communicate with your partner.. put them first in your book, remember the good times.. the reasons you said, "I do"

Give it a shot and then give it another and another. Fight for your marriage with all you've got and don't give up until you think you have exhausted your very last effort. your marriage is worth fighting for. You fall in and out of love in a marriage ,that is what happens. You made your first mistake when you idealised marriage into being something it isn't. it's hard.....
marriage is literally: For better or WORSE, in sickness or in health, for richer or for poorer, to honor, love and obey.
Think about that and give it your all, inspire your husband to do the same.

Why not try to work on why the love is missing in your marriage. If you run from problems with out trying your best to solve them first you will always be running. Try marriage counseling.

If you wish to stay in a loveless marriage for whatever reason, do so. If you wish to find happiness again, move on.
