A level 8 appeared to me last night as I slept. He was a ghostly form that told me level 8's haven't disappeared, but simply transcended the corporeal body and live on a more spiritual plane. ;-)

Someone must be really yanking on that leg. You need to slap them and inform them that it is actually Level 9 and 3 hours within doing so.
You should find someone more reliable to pull your leg next time.

No one knows if it is true because the people who reached Level 8 can't be found to be questioned.

There is no level 8. Level 7 it looks like is the highest level you can get too.

I don't know. We don't have any documentation regarding the ratio of Level 8's to the local ratio of missing persons.
