Please tell me all you know about the starting pay for a cashier/sales associate. Also provide your state and your state's minimum wage. Thank you!

I suppose I should also add this:

Please tell me what YEAR you or the person you know was employed there. The second answer down is hard to put into context because she worked there 15 years ago.

The minumum wage in Connecticut is $7.40 an hour. I'm not sure about walgreens, but i think they pay new comers about minimum wage, maybe a little higher (like $8.00). It also depends on if you will be working full time. I heard the CVS pays minimum wage, and the job itself is awful. And i guess CVS and Walgreens is pretty much the same.

I don't know my state's minimum wage. I worked for Walgreen's in Cincinnati, Ohio off and on for about six years.
I started at $5.25 an hour and it never increased probably because I didn't stay long enough, I left after a year and half, then went back, then left again, then went back, then left again and went to a bank and am still there almost 10 years later.
