Everyone gets the common cold at least once in their life, but why no cure? Theres a cure for fevers and coughs.

There are hundreds of variations of the common cold. Most are caused by a virus, and there are no cures for viruses (just like HIV)
Therefore, you can only do palliative treatment, treat the symptoms of the cold. Tylenol or Advil for fever and aches, Robitussin for coughs, Sudafed for nasal congestion, etc.
Plus, the viruses can mutate and cause new strains of the same virus. You will never get the exact same cold more than once in your lifetime, unless you have problems with your immune system. Your body builds immunities to colds/viruses when you get sick, and then the next time that virus gets into your body, your white blood cells have a memory of how to prevent it from making you ill.

Colds are caused by viruses and there is no cure for a virus (other than a very select few treatments) This is because viruses are constantly mutating and changing their RNA code. We can innoculate against many viruses, but ones that mutate frequently are impossible. This is also why a new flu vaccine comes out every year; and even if you are innoculated, if you do not contain the strand you become infected with, you will probably still get the flu....for which there is no cure either. This is in contrast to bacterial infections which are caused by bacteria and can be treated with antibiotics.

okay what i believe is that there is a cure for every thing out there... herbs.... they are all natural and could be almost free rather than buying expensive medication ..well medication such as pills and chemical liquids do help but... the chemical medications contain a small portion of the virius,bacteria...infection and so on... well the point is that of what i believe such as smallpox and of course the Anthrax and mosquito bites that carry the virus....okay lets keep it this way they found a treatment cure for Anthrax and not for HIV/AIDS what makes you think that the Governments and The FDA are making and commiting to achieve to find the cure ....once they find it...and you hear it in the news and all over the world.. top secret illigal high power anti-humans or any other kind of thing to be against Humans,Animals...and even vanishing top Herbs that they consider as a risk or a myth...and expelling there inventions and all there investigation and they sell each other through Governments and of course Presidents have to do something with this... they might seem inocent but they sure right know how betraying is for there counties...well basicly Herbs are the cure... and Nature's Forest are being Burn and destroyed to make new homes and to become Property but they don't tell this to the public.... cause if they do ....United States and other Countries will be broke for good....why are they giving free medication it cost even more each year .....they make people more sick while the public believes that they are being telled the truth and that they are in good hands.... Govenments are against there State it takes i big powerful person or thing to make him be discover by the Natural Forest Disasters.... why are they not sopporting Herbs and Natural Cures ...cause they make a huge amount out of artificial Chemicals and ingredients....for Example...Diet Sugar... it gets you sicker than regular sugar cause of the Artficial chemicals that remain in your body long-term.. risks...

There are so many germs that cause the common cold that one medication could not cure the common cold.But try the natural way to cure a cold. The medications the (doctors)
give us surpress our own bodies ammune systems.

There is a cure. Your own immune system is what eventually kills the virus. So far,about 1000 cold viruses are known. When you catch a cold it is one of those viruses. Your body fights it and kills it. From there your body is immune to that one virus. You can never have a cold by that virus again.But,there is a bunch left.

The common cold is caused by a virus. Viruses cannot be cured, you can only treat the symptoms.
The cold, the flu, herpes and some other STDs are viruses and cannot be cured; symptoms can be treated.

Ash you are right. It's caused by a virus. The virus is constantly mutating. If they came up with a cure for a certain virus, it would mutate rendering the cure useless.

the cold's caused by a virus. but some viruses can be destroyed only by the antibodies in the immune system. so the cold eventually vanishes on its own. the trick is to have a good +ve attitude and bide your time...
