cardio exercises get your heart rate up and going--examples are walking fast, jogging, jumping rope, swimming laps, walking or running on the treadmill. I try to do 30 minute session on the treadmill at least 4 times a week. sorry I can't help you on the tennis thing but I think that playing a match would be considered cardio.

A cardio workout is many things, but the main thing is to get your heart rate up into your target aerobic range, normally figured by subtracting your age from 220, that will be your maximum recommended heart rate, then multiply by 60 to 85% to figure your aerobic target. In my situation that is 220 - 46 = 174, then

174 x 60% = 105
to
174 x 85% = 148

So, when I crank it on my exercise bike for 40 minutes, I want to keep my heart beating between those numbers. I'm usually closer to the 140 beats per minute range.

For a good cardio workout in Tennis, you're going to have to really keep moving, trying to maintain a heart rate in your target range while doing the stop and start of tennis would be hard.

cardio is anything that makes your heart pump for a longer time. Running is the best cardio you can practice. An easy one is to dance for 45 minutes non stop. That a cardio. So basically is to move nonstop for about 25 to 45 minutes. The more the better. Go easy for starters.

A cardio workout is anything that gets your heart rate up (cardio=heart). As opposed to weight lifting, which builds muscle strength.

Lots of things to choose from: running, tennis, swimming, dancing, basketball, soccer, cross-country skiing, you name it.

You sound like you're new to fitness. You should get a personal trainer to set you up with a program so you can do this safely.
