No, it simply is getting apathetic with them. The sign of the end times. People tend not to comprehend. True evil is not tyranny and all that. It is simply apathy. The act of not caring.
Let me illustrate. When I was in prison there was this convict that I was in transit with at Robertson. He was coming from a medical unit and I was going to one for them to work on my ear. Well... I got into a bit of trouble and ended up on the high security side of his unit. I ended asking the SSIs about him just to find out he died of an aneurysm. Turned out He had complained of a headache asking for an aspirin and the headache was so bad he ended up banging on his cell door all nigh even though the guards wouldn't pay him any mind OR give him any aspirin. The banging ended up stopping. At breakfast they found him dead. There are many more stories about apathy doing harm both in the free and behind the walls but this one sticks out in my mind the most, especially since he was getting out within the year on a 15 year sentence.

It's not you. The carelessness that you refer to is the fact that the idiots in charge are liars.
For instance, there are hundreds to possibly thousands of people who are homeless. The mayor of Dallas promised that she get funding to help these people. The money went to adding on to the library in downtown, fixing the streets of downtown, and a few other pet projects of the city's. The homeless still remain.
Not to mention, she tried to run them out of town by cutting their feedings and trying to arrest them for sleeping under a tree.

I think that gradually people are becoming more and more careless because they think that its the"cool" thing to do!

the world always was and always will be like that. you're just more aware of it through better technology (i.e. better technology allows for better communication, so we are more aware of the suffereing of others because of news, IMing, blogs, etc.)
