Is Myspace really that badd?

i mean come on i'm young and my mom thinks Myspace is a crime and that u can get raped or killed by having a myspace.....is Myspace really that badd??

Myspace is as bad as you make it. Imagine meeting some guy on the street and leaving with him. You dont know him and anything can happen. The same as Myspace. If you meet someone on myspace and try to meet them face to face with out thinking responsibly... bad things can happen. Overall myspace is great. Ive met some wonderful people from there. But of course there are always a few bad apples here and there. Act maturely and responsibly. Keep your meetings online and maybe eventually exchanging phone numbers. Afer that, if you feel comfortable... try meeting in a very public place. Let your friends know what you're doing and dont go anywhere alone with the person until you are 100% sure you can trust them. Just a little side note, I met my boyfriend of 7 years on a website like myspace. And we're still together. Thats the best advice I can give

Ask your mom if you can make a myspace page and keep it private. Explain to her that only people who you already know in real life will be able to view it after you add them as your friend. Also offer to give her the password so she can check to see what you and your friends have displayed on there. This should help her be more at ease with the whole thing, and compromise. If you really want to have one, you will have to compromise. Also mention that you will not post pictures of yourself or give revealing info about your personal life on the site. Good Luck

sure people get raped and killed (so do people on the streets) over the internet and myspace is one. But you gotta be smart and not "KOOL" dont tell people where you live it only takes a plane ticket and a phone book to find you. So the supid person that said its your fault who's fault is it your ingorant???? Its nobody's fault when those kind of things happen to you. Explain 2 your mom the ways you can protect yourself and maybe she will feel safer. Show her how you can block your profile and that you have to accept someone first before they can view your profile.
