Not evil at all. Hedonists enjoy physical pleasure and human touch and are not afraid to admit it. They often stray from your typical monogamy and hey, "More is better", right? so why not get any many people enjoying physical pleasure as possible?
The biggest roadblock in the hedonistic lifestyle is the instinctive human response of jealousy. Pleasure is pleasure, and they're sometime not too picky about whrre it comes from.
Many tribes used to practice "free love" and didn;t have marriage as such, though there were still pair bonds, but they differentiated partnership from sex and other forms of physical pleasure. Going to someone else for "lovin" is akin to visiting different massage therapists(or multiple massage therapists at once) is for us.
Human touch and affection has been clinically proven to be very healthy and a great stress reliever among other things.
The missionaries came along and introduced monogamy, along with jealousy, guilt, rape and domestic violence.
Most westerners recoil at the idea of multiple partners or being naked in a room, or recieving physical attention(doesn't have to be sex) with more than one person.

There's nothing satanic about it. Do yourself a favor, buy a dictionary and stop seeing the world through Christianity tinted glasses.

It means they're kind of 70's leftover people who follow the philosophy "if it feels good, do it". If they're calling themselves that on the internet, it probably means swingers.

Hedonism refers to someone who is dedicated to personal pleasure. That is, some one whose "religion" is indulging him/herself with food, drink, and sex. I assume then that a hedonistic couple would be two people who share that trait.
