If you are not viewing file extensions, then you do not see the ".txt" that notepad added to the end.

Go into Windows Explorer RIGHT NOW, and go to TOOLS in the menu, and pick FOLDER OPTIONS. UNCHECK the lame box that says HIDE KNOWN FILE EXTENSIONS.

HEY BILL and the Microsoft Lame Team, we are not using a MAC here, so why in heavens name do you think that we would want a lame option like that being a DEFAULT. File extensions are a vital part of the WinDUD operating systems. Stop trying to make PC users ignorant.

After saving your notepad file as html, make sure that it's extension is .htm or .html like you want it. Notepad by default adds an extension ".txt" to whatever file name you give (ie if you give file name as index.html, notepad saves it as index.html.txt).

To avoid an extra .txt added to your file, either give the filename within quotes eg "index.html" or, in the file type drop down, select "All Files (*.*)" and then give the filename.

Hope this helps.

You can't just type in index.html, you look right below it and is say Text Document... Just change it to any and then you can write index.html

Try to just save it as name and then html and it should work.

ex: testing.html

Good luck
