Frances Gumm was the inventor of Bostik and his real name was Glue Bostik. He changed his name to Gumm as Gumm was already franchised to describe the interface between jaw and teeth and needed something original to call his gumm (sic). In the the end he decided upon Bostik as he decided it was the best (Boss) glue (Stick) around.
