That is the danger of the internet. Most people do not communicate like they would if they were face to face. In fact there is a very serious and new threat out there and it's called CYBER BULLYING. You will see this subject being approached in the schools (and you should ask your police department to come talk to kids at your schools about this) and it's very dangerous. I had one girl expose my daughter's identity and put up hate messages and I told the school to talk to this girl's parents and that if she didn't have that off there by the end of the day I would go to the police.
She did and the girl did and the principal got the police to come in and talk to the whole school about this and the dangers that young people face both in exposing themselves on the internet and how they relate to others.
Sadly this will harm our young people because they will come to think this behaviour and talk is "normal" and it's far from normal, and it will affect the way they relate in real life too.
Parents need to "get real" and realize what is taking place with thier kids online.
I can't believe people can be as psycho or rude or mean and demented as they appear on many of these posts.

Because there is no fear of a face to face with the person you are dealing with. You Can openly express your opinions, good or bad, without the aspect of getting beaten up or for the most part proving anything you say to another person. I like it i think it helps people to get a lot off their chests that they normally wouldn't be able to do otherwise. Thanks for the points and the out let.

it's not real life when i'm on the net? aren't all the people reading this real? is this just a role playing game to all using it? well, maybe because if i say something some a**hole disagrees with he won't be able to punch me in the face just for saying what i think.( the pen and telephone are the same way)

no one sees your face, don't have to worry about getting your azz kicked, and with anonymity comes cowardice. no one can tell if you;re an ex ball player or a nerdy computer geek. the mystery aspect of things gives people tremendous confidence or beer muscles.

because people tend to feel inferior at certain times... at least here the courage to bring out what's on your mind is proven. also, it's difficult to say things especially if someone wants to be the centerpiece all the time, making him the "star" of every act made. further, no one can really shut you up....

It's called being anonymous (my favorite Greek philosopher-bad joke!).Being online, there is little accountability-wont offend a family member or lose a job on account of what you say(except for those on your job that may monitor what you do!) Strange as it sounds,it's a "sheltered" way of being "less sheltered"-if that makes any sense
