Not-so-gradually, we're turning into a random, illogical police state. It's not surprising that people are being booked and jailed for defending their lives against violent gunmen. Chaos is thinly disguised here as civilization.

A grand jury is not the same as a trial jury. It is established to decide whether a crime had been committed and whether the man in question should face charges and go to trial.
Any possible charges against him were dropped.
So what's your problem?

It seems dumb to me too. However its not as bad as the burglar that sued home owners for injuries caused by falling though their skylight while attempting to break in to their home. He won. Maybe they should have put up a warning sign. It could say 'trespassers are subject to booby-traps'.

It was self defense, it's good that he wasn't prosecuted


but did you notice that the dead guy's name was Will Joe Hunt? looks like he won't anymore!! ha ha :)
