Hi.

No way! I used to as a kid but it got my eyes so red and irritated and they'd be itching for days. It may have had something to do with the fact that my dad used enough chlorine to chlorinate the pacific ocean. Dunno.

I tried opening my eyes recently when I went swimming but I closed them quick! It didn't feel right to open them. Maybe it was a flashback to the red, irritated devil eyes I had as a kid. lol.

I just put my hands out when I sense I'm
close to the side of the pool.

Your question just gave me an idea for a swimming question of my own. Hey thanks:))

I consistently swim with my eyes open below the water! I do observe that my eyes get slightly crimson yet I hate goggles! I surely have been swimming like this for twenty years now and my eye sight is superb the only reason I surely have contacts is to alter the colour of my eyes and that i do no longer decide for a prescription! So i do no longer think of it is messes alongside with your eyes in any respect. i'm additionally on a swim team and swim 3 days a week for some hours at a time. maximum suitable of luck to you!

Yes. You can actually see fairly well. Heavily chlorinated pools can cause some redness though.
