information:
$6.85/1 hr
40 hr/1 week
daycare = 32 hr/1week(are we assuming 5 days or 7days?? i'll assume 5 days in a work week)
$15/1 day

u already know how much she makes per hour. now u have to figure out how much the daycare costs per hour. i'm assuming a 5 day week, so 32hours/5 days = 6.4 hours per day in daycare. $15/6.4 = $2.35 per hour for daycare

$6.85 - $2.35 = $4.50

Sally earns $4.50 an hour

tada! :)

The math problem is messed up. It does not specify how many children and only says $15 per day times 32 hours per week, while Sally's income is provided in hours times hours.

Is this a political question...?

She actually makes $6.85 per hour. I don't know if all your math homework is worded this stupid but it should say something like: Assuming she spends what she makes on daycare how much would her hourly salary be after subtracting the cost. If people only make their wage minus their costs then I'm making about 10 cents an hour.

Sally makes $274 / week (6.85x40). Expenses are $75/week (assume 1 child), leaving her with $199.00/week. Divide this by 40, and you make $4.97 1/2 per hour.

TO answer this you must know the # of days per week Sally works and the # of days per week her kids are in daycare.

It's time for Sally to get an education and get herself a real job. Maybe she shouldn't have had a child when she was a teenager.

15 divided by 8 = 1.875 (round to $1.88)
$6.85 - $1.88= $4.97
Sally would make $ 4.97 per hour

40hrs at 6.85=274.00
32hrs of day care is 4 eight hr days
274.00-60.00(day care)=214.00
214.00divided by 40hrs=5.35
Thus the answer is she makes $5.35 per hr.
