He s my cousin. He has a shunt in his head to drain excess fluid off his brain. That is why he wears his hat sideways to cover the shunt. I hope you people feel sorry for judging a little kid. Columbus, GA — Kyle Carter, a star pitcher and first baseman for the 2006 Little League World Series champions, was hospitalized after a seizure 10 days after brain surgery. Carter had surgery Dec. 8 to replace a shunt inserted when he was an infant to alleviate arterial blockage. It broke in a collision during basketball practice. Doctors were unsure what caused the seizure.
