I love it. I have been known to trash pick too. It is a definite addiction. It is fun to get something for almost free that you can't find anywhere else. Most of my clothes are from thrift shops and people always comment on my nice clothes.

Well this lady is waaaay over 40 too and I still love to go to yard sales, thrift stores, etc. When I went on disability back in 98 I furnished my whole house from these places.Found a lot of useful things that could be refurbished at a very cheap price, some things I still have.Plus I get a senior citizens discount at the thrift stores, every little bit helps ya know. When you're on a fixed income you do what you have to do to get by.
I don't drive much now but still go whenever my daughter or friends come pick me up.We always have a blast just getting out having fun and meeting new people.
Happy Treasure Hunting.

I qualify in the age department but only like yard sales. Thrift stores are stinky and just plain skanky. Flea markets usually bore me except when I get in that "I wonder what life was like back in the old days" kind of thinking, which is very occasional. I do enjoy watching antiques road show every now and then though.

I'm not 40 yet but my parents used to love to go "junkin" I agree with the estate sales comments they are the best places wait until afterwards and there is stuff for nothing left out on the curb.

I'm waaaay over 40 my friend. But I go junking, yardsaling, fleamarketing, curb shopping and thrifting. If you're into antiques you should definitely check out the estate sales and auctions in the areas around you, especially rural areas.
Happy hunting!

I am in my 40's and love to go to garage sales, flea markets, etc. Next week I am going to a flea market, it takes 5 hrs of steady walking to get thru it.

I enjoy this if I am looking to buy a certain item. Sometimes I find old used paint canvases that I can paint over or old (sometimes) antique wooden frames. I try not to do this too often...my parents went every weekend and their house filled up with "stuff." And now I have to figure out what to do with it all.....Are you looking for a wife or something? heh, heh.
