Fill out your FAFSA first. You will need your tax return from last year so that they can determine if you will get aid. After that check with your school's financial aid office and they will be able to let you know how much money the government is going to give you via pell grant for your tuition. If the pell doesn't cover it all, then you can take out Federal Stafford Loans. Just ask the financial aid office if you have any questions.

All schools that I know of have a financial aid office that can help you out. However, before most of them can do anything, you need to fill out the federal application for financial aid (the FAFSA). After you fill that out and send it in, the government will send a summary to the school(s) that you are planning on applying, from there, the financial aid department at your school will send you a summary of what they are willing to offer. That's pretty much all there is to it.
