I hope too many people weren't out last night trying to look for it. What a joke that was, with a million victims worldwide. Just shows how crap information can be spread all over the world almost instantly with the internet.

Don't believe all you read, folks, without applying your own thought or checking up in good literature.

Well, just last night I had to put up with a group of not very wise young women and their mars watching party. They couldn't even see the moon!!!

Why everybody believed in such a stupid tale?

Yes it is nice... although the idiots that gathered in the park next to my home were not reading these answers... they apparently still believed Mars would be there... and discussed it quite loudly too (sigh)!

Now if only the people on the Yahoo answers would give it up about whether Pluto should have stayed a planet or not! One of these millennia we're going to find another planet similar to Earth... and it'll be the same size as Pluto (or smaller). Then the whole discussion of what is classified as a planet will begin again!!!

You're forgetting the public is easily persuaded by crap!!! Anyone with a brain knows that Mars will never get the close to us unless it falls out if its orbit. And if that happens we most likely won't be around to see it. Think about it there are people who literally thinks that a groundhog living in a tree stump can predict the weather.

Now if only people would stop whining about Pluto and move on with their life...

I wasn't happy about the decision but as a scientist and rational human being, I understood and accepted it and gods forbid, stopped obsessing about it and kept on living life.

But some people here just... can't... seem... to.... let... go... must... keep... fighting...

Get some sleep people, Mars and Pluto will still be there in the morning.

The only way Mars could look as big as the moon is if it were as close as the moon, and that ain't happening

If anybody believed that rumor, they should be cuffed upside the head

You mean I stayed up all night outside my trailer with my Coors Light and roadkill sandwiches and missed it?

It was real, I saw Marz, it was like bright/dark orange. It took me a while to find the right window at 12:30am I was really sleepy and no, I wasn't dreamin.
