Kinda like kids worrying about what color they should dye their hair, or if their avatar looks hot, or what to say to a boy/girl they like but are too shy to speak, or what they should wear to school, or where they can get free (music, software, movies, etc), or if toothpaste can get rid of zits, etc. etc. etc. etc.

This is SO irritating, but simple to understand when you get OLD----you then realize that you have escaped lots of awful things that might have happened to you (fatal diseases, plane crashes, going nuts, floods, lightning strikes, fires, etc.) and it starts bothering you. It's hard to be carefree and laugh a lot, and "let go"---you feel like you'd better be watchful because you've out-lived a bunch of people and you might not deserve this luck. Your life is a story and you start to worry about the ending when you realize time has passed so fast, and you're kind of guilty, too-why are you so special, maybe you'd better worry more.
Maybe today's the day :-(

you must be young, under 30? Still bullet proof too I'm sure. Well, as you age, your life changes, your viewpoints change, what is important changes and then you find yourself on the other end of time and you have practiced all your life to worry, so you now worry about stuff that isn't important, like having something to do with your hands, keeping busy... see what I mean? Just nod your head and give them a hug, tell them it will be ok. Just like your parents do you to sometimes...

No, because it does matter. You're just too naive to understand it, I guess. I'm 23 and I worry a lot more than do my parents about the weather and stuff.

The key here is that it doesn't matter ......TO YOU. You are just at a different stage in your life and you don't understand why they think the way they do.

I know what you mean though...I had to stay with my grandmother during Katrina and all she and her friends talked about was their aches/pains, Dr. appointments, what meds they were on, the weather, and their bowel movements. (I am totally serious about the last)

You mean, worrying about stuff that doesn't matter to you. It could be very important to them.

yeah my grandma is freakin' nuts. she worries about every little damn thing and is sooooo paranoid. And whenever she gets in her car she puts sun screen on her hands because she doesn't want sun on her hands because she doesn't want age spots. How stupid is that? I've never gotten any sun while in the car. And she worries about everything imaginable under the sun, it gets so annoying.

Do you know how careful we have had to be to make it this long? Just one mistake and you would be talking to someone else! If you screw up you won't make it to old age!
