I noticed that too, Haha. It's marketing. Southern cooking is a part of African American culture just as tortillas are a main part of many Mexican dishes. I'm sure the money influenced the actors themselves to take part in the commercial. When you really look at it it's simply business. That's who they chose to market to in accordance with their statistics. Saying anything else would take a paranoid mind.
