If you live in the northern area of the country, every year they have a drive for winter items for children. Contact your local charities and see if they accept hand made scarf, hats and gloves. Also, contact the local nursing homes and see if you can donate Afghans.

Try your local VFW or American Legion if you have a !st Marines division try them also. We like to give away raffles to our members at our monthly meetings. Alot of the stuff we give away was donated by someone in the community...

Contact the neo-natal unit at your local hospital. Preemies always need hats and booties to help keep their little bodies warm.

If you can knit stuffed animals such as teddy bears, there's an organization for breast cancer for that. Look it up, they're not like normal teddy bears, they're made of like normal cloth and just sewed at the ends. Can't think of the name for the life of me, but I own one of the bears.

You can sell your projects on Ebay and you can designate the proceeds to any of the charities that they recognize - there are hundreds and when payment is made, it automatically goes to the charity.
