The teachers, or school board, uses this as a deterrent so that children will not take advantage of the bathroom as many have and many will continue. we all know about the children that take forever and are not really using the bathroom. Best bet, get your child's physician to write a doctor's note stating that your child must be allowed to use the bathroom when the child needs to and that a time limit cannot be placed on nature. Then make sure your child understands the consequences if they are ever caught abusing the privilege of using the bathroom.

I personally think it should be illegal! Good advice about getting a doctors note. I had to do that what 15 years ago (my how time flyes)! Anywhoo, I was born with only one kidney and had UTI's all the time... At least one every other month. Anyway it got to the point where my parents took the school dist to court and since that day on when I had to go I just went and I did.t get into trouble!

First of all, I don't believe in detention. The school has my children from 7:30 in the morning until 3 in the afternoon, if they can't deal with any issues between those hours, then it's their problem, and not mine, but I refuse to have my entire family be inconvenienced because of their schedules. 2nd of all, if a child needs to go to the restroom, then the child should be allowed to, period. I would call the school principal on this one, and state that in no uncertain terms, your child will be allowed to use the restroom whenever he/she needs to. Throw in a "he/she is prone to urinary tract infections" if the principal balks and say that you'll just send the doctor's bills to the school district. I'll bet that's all you'll have to do.

children? what kind of child switches classes? and if this is a probelm, then it should be okayed by teachers to allow their students to ask for permission to go right before class begins (as soon as they get into class and put their packs down, that is...). As long as they get permission, they shouldn't be getting detention

There at the instant are no specific regulations approximately such issues, inspite of the undeniable fact that it truly is truly against the policies of the IB programme. it is likewise, as you mentioned, thoroughly unethical, and the instructor might desire to (and could) lose her job over something like this. i do no longer think of that confronting the instructor herself is an astonishing concept. I do understand your desire to chat to the instructor herself particularly than tattling to others, yet i hit upon it no longer uncomplicated to believe that she does not totally understand her movements, and that i'm petrified of a few issues occurring. First, it would provide her an risk to guard herself in case it comes out publicly, and secondly, i might concern which you will possibly get scapegoated interior the technique. the concern you have is that your tips is 2nd-hand, and hence constitutes rumour. even if in case you have been to flow to the school approximately it, they could no longer quickly do something approximately it, because of the fact they heard it from you, who heard it from somebody else. there is too plenty room for errors there. the ideal they might do may well be to be alert to her, and perchance confirm that it does no longer take place returned. And something you will possibly say might harm your chum. Are you waiting to try this? i do no longer pick to deter you, because of the fact i myself think of you will possibly desire to tell somebody on the school, yet i intend to make specific you recognize the outcomes you will possibly face.

Teachers are too strict! My mom always taught me that if someone says you can't go to the bathroom, walk out. I'm not going to embarass myself just because some teacher feels like being mean. Especially with girls. Not to be blunt, but we all know girls have periods. Telling them they have 3 minutes when they have to clean themselves up and "change" is ridiculous. You're right, and I always thought that any time someone asks to go to the bathroom, it should be allowed.

the school system is screwed up especially in the k-2 grades, and plus we have a lot of unqualified school taechers that dont know anything about small kids. teachers are paid to baby sit but for some reason they fail to understand what it means to have 30, 5 yr-olds in one room. schools are unsafe for kids too(the younger ones) there have bee incidents were strange people just appear on campus and no one asks them why are the here.

I'm not sure if it's illegal or not, but if a teacher tryed to stop my son from going to the bathroom I would definity have words with her. When a child or anyone for that matter has to go they should be able to go.
