Asking the doctor to induce labor or schedule a C-section is the only "definate" way. I have heard that if she eats spicy foods (why?? I dunno) or if she has an orgasm that it's supposed to help move things along. Whether or not it works I don't know.

It is only safe for a doctor to induce labor. The onlt things a woman can do at home is to walk a lot, or have sex. Anything that involves trying to break the menbranes (Bags of water) , and possibly causing an infection and endangering the life of the baby.

The only way to induce a pregnancy is to go into hospital and have drugs (can't remember which one!) administered through a drip. These are not failsafe however, and don't guarantee an induction.

Some women have found that eating spicy food, or having sex brought on labour. However, these may be amazing coincidences or complete or utter myths. Have fun trying, though! ;)

Mother Nature. Unless there is a health reason or the woman is over 40 weeks, there is no reason to induce labor. If the doctor is not suggesting it, then let it be, babies come when babies are ready.

There really is no way to do it for sure. You just gotta wait it out. Now, there have been stories that sex may bring it on. If you choose to try that, make sure the woman carrying the baby orgasims! Reason being, I am 8 months pregnant and I get braxton hicks contractions all day long. When I have sex w/my fiancé and have an orgasm (i know, a little too much info) I get contractions really bad after it. But if I don't orgasm, I don't get contractions at all after sex. Something about the orgasm makes those muscles inside of you move - believe me! They do!

Million dollar question but walking seemed to help. My wife has real big babies 9 lbs 6 oz and 9 lbs 13 oz and she is tall and skinny. Them babies where real cozy inside Mom's belly. They will come when there ready too, not before no matter what. Tell Mom sorry and we all feel for ya. Good Luck

The baby will let the mother know when he or she is ready, not the other way around. You don't want a baby to be born premature, like before his or her lungs have fully developed! Be patient! Look at it this way, and elephant is pregnant 22 month, we get time off for good behavior lol.

No safe way but TIME. Ask your physician. PLEASE do not take any chances. But a long walk will help the time pass and I was told by my doc that it is the only acceptable answer to speed things up. ( I walked - then felt better and it did not seem that important any more)

If she is ready, massage her feet. On the bottom right above the heel, towards the arch of the foot. It will help the cervix spread.
