Its an in-ear monitor, basically headphones, that way they can hear themseves and the music over the crowd. Monitors are usually set on the floor on the stage in front of the singer but for example if the perormer walks around especially in front of the stage monitors they wont be able to hear as well.

It's a monitor so they can hear themselves sing and communicate with the stage crew.
Stages are loud places. In smaller situations there are often speakers pointed back at the performer so they can hear what they're singing. On larger stages or places where the singer is moving around a lot it's
A. Not possible for speakers pointed at the performer to be loud enough without creating sound problems (like feedback).
B. Hard for the performer to hear what they're doing from everywhere they go onstage.
So, they wear that little earpiece. It also allows the stage manager/sound engineer to communicate directly to the performer if they need to, without disrupting the performance.

It's an earphone with the backing track to their song. They need it because the crowd and the base is so loud where they are that they can't hear the music over it, so that feeds the music to them so they can sing along! :)

This is going for any type of live performance: the cost of water at outside stay shows. this is loopy! also, the site visitors to and from. and clearly the idiotic drunks contained in the team that impose their dumbassness on anybody round them.
