There are exceptions. I haven't seen any desktops with P4-Ms. All the laptops I ever had were mobile desktops. They all had desktop CPUs. The Dell laptop I'm using now has a P4 3.2 HT processor. The battery only lasts about an hour. To me the battery serves as an UPS when the power goes out. I don't mind the heat because it keeps my Chihuahua warm.
