gas particles are totally diff. from atoms.
atoms make up molecules which make up matter (gas is considered matter)

Atoms are basic building blocks. All the known different types of atoms are listed in "Periodical Tables".
In side Atoms, there are sub-atomic particules, protons, neutrons, electrons. At one point, people thought they were the most basic.
But as technology advances, scientist discover more basic particultes that makes up the electrons, proton, etc.
Ultimately we are still pushing further to see how small we can continue to break down these sub-atomic particules and see whta is the most basic building blocks of all matters.
